HOME DESCRIPTION
The Apartment has been tastefully refurbished and has views over the local Square. It is on the principal road linking the Capital of Creuse, Gueret, and Aubusson and therefore has very good connections to the Autoroute network. Airports at Limoges and Clermont Ferrand are within 1 hours drive away.
The accommodation is on the second floor above the local Tabac and comprises :
Secure Entrance Door to the large Lounge ( 6.22x4.28mtrs) with skylight and window overlooking the road and Square and is furnished with Television, sofa/bed, and chairs.
The Kitchen also has a window overlooking the road and Square – it measures 4.23x3.86mtrs and is equipped with all cooking necessities – and a Dining Table to enjoy the fruits of your labour and using the local produce!
The Bathroom is also large at 3.10x3.93mtrs. It has a skylight and has a full-size bath with shower fitting and there is also a sink and a WC.
The two Bedrooms each have a skylight and are 3.34x3.11mtrs – one has a double bed and the other has twin beds.
There is new electrical wiring and new plumbing and there are many electric sockets and new radiators.
THE SURROUNDING REGION
The large towns of Limoges ( http://www.ville-limoges.fr ) and Clermont Ferrand ( http://www.ville-clermont-ferrand.fr )are large elegant cities with all the shopping and History you could wish for.
The nearby town of Aubusson ( http://www.ville-aubusson.com ) is very picturesque and
well known as being the centre of Tapestry weaving – and this is still practised.
The Regional capital of Gueret ( http://www.ville-gueret.fr ) is also very worth while to visit with a marvellous Museum.
The Lac Vassiviere ( http://www.ot-vassiviere.fr/ ) will cool you off on those long hot summers days … and nights! There are many watersports available here. There are numerous other lakes around – plus of course the River Creuse.
Puy de Dome (http://www.puy-de-dome.net)and Le Mont Dore (http://www.le-mont-dore.com) offer spectacular views in the summer and top class skiing (and après ski!!) in the winter.
Also there are day trips to Paris and Geneva – and also by local transport right from the front door!
Plus , of course, there are thousands of small towns and villages around each corner – each with high quality inexpensive restaurants plus historic Churches and Monuments.
THE VILLAGE
The Village has all you will need to keep your stay lively and enjoyable – as well as using your car to visit the places noted above and using public transport as well – within walking distance is the Mairie, 2 Boulangeries, Chemist, Garage, 2 small supermarkets, Hairdresser, Bar, Hotel, Ironmongers/Electricians, Campsite with swimming pool, Antiques shop, Furniture Shop … and probably some we haven’t found yet!
