Come and visit Christie's Bookshop & Tea Room in Gencay, halfway between Civray and Poitiers (86).

We have a wide range of new books for children and adults, both fiction and non-fiction, including a good selection of French/English language materials.
We also offer a comprehensive new book ordering service.

With around 3,000 quality used books on display too(and several thousand more in reserve) there's something to suit every taste. And check out our baskets of bargains from 50 cents!

While you're here, relax with a decent cup of tea in the Tea Room - choose from a variety of English teas and infusions, French filter coffees, Cadbury's hot chocolate, Bovril - and maybe treat yourself to one of our delicious home-baked cakes (also available to order).

The internet area (WiFi) comprises of 4 computers with usual facilities, has a scanner available for use.

Perhaps you'd just like to browse our eclectic range of UK goods, to choose a hand-painted gift or a beautiful greetings card.

Our opening hours are: Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-12 noon and 2pm-6pm. (July-August Sunday 3-6pm).

Lastly, we are collecting used postage stamps for the RNIB, old spectacles for Visions Aid and donating 10cts to Open Door in Civray, for every used jiffy bag you give us. So please do bring any along when you visit. A bientôt.
