A chef with 30 years experience and a travel writer with 10 years experience have teamed up to bring you a travel/cookbook featuring the the food and the people of the Dordogne region of Southwestern France. Not just an ordinary travel guide, Tales From The Table is culinary travel with a voice.

Perhaps the most under rated area of the country, the Dordogne is a fairy tale land deeply rooted in culinary tradition and history. The authors traveled extensively around the region and into the homes and residences to uncover stories and secrets, and of course, to eat! Along their aimless path:

-They met a former chef of Francois Mitterrand and cooked over an open fire
-They ate walnut cake with the niece of Marguerite Moreno (famous french actress and best friend of Colette)
-They shared a bottle of wine with the ancestor of Antoine de Saint-Exupery (The Little Prince)
-They feted into the wee hours of the night below a 500 year old castle.

These are just some of the stories that unfold in the book but the pages are full of stories of local chefs, farmers, culinary magicians and families who call the Dordogne home. The stories come alive with the voices of the people and the beautiful photographs taken by professional photographer Louis Lesko. The book is due out this year by Silverback Books.
